A conversation with Intent Journal about my personal relationship with style.
Over the past nine months I've become modern-day pen pals with Sigrid (Siggi or Sig as I like to affectionately call her) McCarthy. Sig works as the Communications Coordinator at Ethical Clothing Australia and is Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Intent Journal, a digital magazine dedicated to reconnecting the designer, maker, and wearer — encouraging people to value what they buy on a deeper level.
Our relationship began with candid and earnest discussions about our work, which quickly evolved to include our broader lives. Our often lengthy emails have become a place for us to critique each other's work and share insights and challenges about our personal and professional lives. We share similar values and intentions regarding our work, and our wardrobes are largely monochromatic, so I'm not surprised that we became fast friends.
Sig recently asked me if we could take our conversation from private to public for a Q&A with Intent Journal. I enjoy spending (most of) my time pondering esoteric philosophical subjects like values, vision, purpose, and intention, so I happily agreed. Below are some behind-the-scenes photographs of Sig and I trying to (unsuccessfully) look composed and then having a laugh about it.
Thank you to Claire Summers for kindly taking these profile photographs.

I've already had some interesting discussions about this Q&A and I'd love to hear your thoughts. What do you think? Do you have anything to add? What would you like to learn more about?
